Founders Park & Waterfront Park Portrait Photography in Old Town Alexandria

Founders Park and Waterfront Park are two of my favorite locations for portrait photography in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. Located along the Potomac River, these scenic parks offer a beautiful combination of waterfront views, historic architecture, greenery, and charming Old Town surroundings. They are ideal locations for family photography, couples portraits, engagement sessions, senior portraits, and lifestyle photography.

Founders Park offers a peaceful and natural setting with mature trees, open green spaces, gardens, and beautiful views of the Potomac River. The relaxed atmosphere makes it a wonderful choice for families and couples looking for natural, timeless portraits. Just a short walk away, Waterfront Park provides a more vibrant Old Town Alexandria backdrop, with river views, historic buildings, cobblestone streets, and the character that makes Alexandria such a unique place for photography.

For Old Town Alexandria engagement photography, couples, junior, and family sessions, the waterfront is especially beautiful during golden hour. The warm evening light creates a soft glow across the Potomac River and adds a romantic quality to photographs. With several unique backdrops within walking distance, a session at Founders Park and Waterfront Park can include both natural and urban images without having to travel between multiple locations.

If you're searching for an Alexandria VA portrait photographer, Founders Park and Waterfront Park offer some of the most picturesque settings in Northern Virginia. From family portraits beside the river to romantic engagement photos throughout historic Old Town, these waterfront locations provide a beautiful backdrop for photographs that feel authentic, relaxed, and timeless.
